Founders Financial Edit: The Language and Fluency of Your Personal Capital

Join Provident1898’s Heirloom Network for a working session designed for entrepreneurial women navigating the financial realities of both business and life.
Facilitated by Leah Wyatt, the session introduces personal capital as a connected system encompassing income, assets, debt, household responsibilities, risk, and long-term wealth building. Participants will strengthen their financial language and fluency, explore how they make decisions across competing priorities, and develop a more practical, values-aligned approach to directing their resources.
The goal is not to prescribe one version of financial success, but to help women better understand and take ownership of the capital they are already managing.

Join The Provident1898 Heirloom Network and Rho Chapter, Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. for an afternoon exploring this truth through the life and legacy of Viola Turner. As NC Mutual’s first female board member, Turner helped build their investment portfolio and transformed what leadership looked like at the largest Black insurance firm in America.
This special event honors Turner’s brilliance while celebrating the 90th Anniversary of Rho Chapter, Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., which she helped charter right here in Durham. Together, we’ll explore how Turner and other remarkable women from M&F Bank, Mutual Community Savings, NCCU, and Lincoln Hospital propelled Black Wall Street forward through ingenuity and intentional purpose and how their legacy continues to inspire today’s business leaders.
Guests are invited to learn more about The Heirloom Network and explore pathways to membership, including mentorship, business assessments, and access to a powerful ecosystem of women committed to building with intention.
